Hadgi (ሓድጊ) is a Tigrigna word for heritage. Hadgi Tourism focuses on promoting Tigrai to the rest of the world. Since its establishment in 2015, it has produced several tourist guide materials such as tourist maps of Tigrai.
In 2018, it moved its headquarters to Mekelle, the capital city of Tigrai from Addis Ababa. Two years later, due to a genocidal war declared on Tigrai by the Federal Government of Ethiopia, along with material and personnel support from more than half a dozen other countries and forces from 10 regional states, it lost all its resources and was forced to close its operations.
Hadgi is now partnered with companies in Kenya, Sudan, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ethiopia, the US, and Europe and with Professionals who have been in the tourism business for many years.
